By submitting a sample to Mal’s Equine – Worm Egg Counts, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
1. Scope of Service
Mal’s Equine – Worm Egg Counts provides laboratory-based parasite testing services, including Faecal Egg Counts (FEC), Faecal Egg Count Reduction Tests (FECRT), Tapeworm testing, and Pinworm testing.
All results are laboratory findings based solely on the sample submitted at the time of testing. Mal’s Equine does not physically examine animals and does not provide veterinary diagnosis, prescription, or medical treatment advice.
Test results reflect the condition of the submitted sample at the time of analysis only and do not represent an ongoing health assessment.
2. Client Responsibility
All decisions regarding treatment, including whether to treat, product selection, dosing, timing, and ongoing management, remain solely the responsibility of the horse owner or responsible caretaker.
Mal’s Equine does not supply anthelmintic products and does not determine dosing rates. Clients are responsible for accurate weight estimation, correct product administration, and ensuring products are used in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
Clients are encouraged to seek veterinary advice where appropriate.
3. Educational Information & Active Ingredient Guidance
Where general information regarding parasite classes or recommended active ingredients is provided, this information is supplied for educational purposes only.
Any reference to an active ingredient (for example, ivermectin, moxidectin, praziquantel, etc.) is not a prescription or directive to use a specific product and does not replace veterinary advice.
Mal’s Equine does not determine specific product brands, dosages, combinations, or treatment protocols. Responsibility for selecting and administering an appropriate product rest entirely with the horse owner or their veterinarian.
4. Sample Collection & Suitability
Clients are responsible for collecting, storing, and transporting samples in accordance with the provided instructions.
Mal’s Equine is not responsible for sample degradation, contamination, leakage, temperature exposure, postal delays, or third-party handling issues.
Samples deemed unsuitable for accurate testing due to age, contamination, incorrect collection, or deterioration may require recollection. Where appropriate, recollection may be requested at no additional testing cost.
5. Turnaround Times
Samples are typically processed within 7 days of collection. Processing times may vary due to seasonal demand, sample volume, illness, equipment maintenance, or unforeseen circumstances.
Mal’s Equine does not guarantee specific turnaround times but will make reasonable efforts to communicate delays where possible.
6. No Guarantee of Treatment Outcome
Mal’s Equine provides laboratory findings only and does not guarantee specific treatment outcomes, parasite eradication, or health improvements following treatment.
Parasite burdens, environmental factors, dosing accuracy, and individual animal response may all influence treatment effectiveness.
7. Limitation of Liability
Mal’s Equine provides laboratory findings based solely on the submitted sample and does not assume responsibility for animal health outcomes.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability for any claim arising from the provision of testing services is limited to the amount paid for the relevant testing service.
Mal’s Equine and Malena Hyde shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of income, veterinary expenses, competition losses, diminished value, or animal death.
8. Payment
Payment is required prior to the release of test results unless otherwise arranged. Mal’s Equine reserves the right to withhold results until payment has been received.
9. Confidentiality
All client information and test results are treated as confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties without consent, except where required by law.
10. Record Retention
Test results and client records are retained for a reasonable period for administrative, compliance, and reference purposes.
Physical samples are discarded after testing in accordance with standard laboratory practices and are not stored long term.
11. Right to Refuse Service
Mal’s Equine reserves the right to refuse testing services where samples are deemed inappropriate, unsafe, or unsuitable for analysis, or where client conduct is unreasonable, abusive, or non-compliant with these terms.
